Hyde Fragments

Hyde Fragments was a site specific installation with glass and candlelight at the Hyde Abbey Gate in Winchester.  This ancient site, was the entrance to the Hyde Abbey, founded by King Alfred.  The installation pieces took their colouring from fragments of glass found during an archaeological dig and reconstructed into a figure as it would have been in the windows of the abbey.  The installation provides a fragmented impression of the colour and light that would once have flooded the Abbey.
